How Much Does an ATS Actually Cost in 2026?
ATS pricing ranges from free to ₹8L+ a year. Here is what each tier actually includes, the costs vendors do not put on the pricing page, and how to work out what you should pay.
ATS pricing is deliberately hard to compare. Some vendors publish a number, some only quote, and almost nobody puts the implementation fee on the pricing page. Here is a straight answer, tier by tier.
The three pricing tiers
Free and near-free (₹0 – ₹2,000/month)
Free plans from larger suites, or entry tiers from small vendors. Expect caps — a handful of active jobs, limited users, no automation. Genuinely fine if you hire two or three people a year.
SMB (₹2,000 – ₹25,000/month)
Where most growing teams land. Per-seat or flat-rate, unlimited jobs, pipeline customisation, interview scheduling, and usually some resume screening. Contracts are monthly or annual and you can self-serve.
Enterprise (₹4L – ₹8L+ per year)
Greenhouse, Lever and similar. Quote-based, annual commitment, often an implementation fee on top. You are buying integrations, reporting depth and compliance tooling — real value at scale, heavy overhead below it.
The costs that are not on the pricing page
- Implementation or onboarding fees — common at the enterprise tier, sometimes a five-figure one-off
- Per-user pricing that counts hiring managers and interviewers, not just recruiters
- Job-board posting credits billed separately from the subscription
- Add-on modules for offer letters, background checks or assessments
- Annual-only billing, so a monthly figure is really a yearly commitment
When comparing quotes, ask for the all-in first-year cost including implementation and every seat that needs a login. Headline per-seat prices routinely understate this by 2–3×.
What should you actually pay?
A rough rule: if you are hiring fewer than 10 people a year, stay in the free or low SMB tier. Between 10 and 50 hires, the SMB tier pays for itself in recruiter time. Above that, enterprise features start to matter.
The other question worth asking is what happens after the offer is accepted. If your ATS hands off to a separate HR system, budget for that too — see ATS vs HRMS for where the line falls.
For reference: what DevCli costs
DevCli ATS is ₹500 per HR user per month, billed per seat with no minimum and no implementation fee. HRMS with payroll is ₹100 per employee per month, enabled separately. Full breakdown on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
- Is there a genuinely free applicant tracking system?
- Yes, several vendors offer free tiers, usually capped on active jobs or users. They work well for low-volume hiring; the constraint you hit first is normally the number of open roles.
- Why do enterprise ATS vendors hide their pricing?
- Because pricing is negotiated per deal based on headcount, hiring volume and contract length. Expect to go through a sales cycle, and expect the first quote not to be the final one.
- Is per-seat or flat-rate pricing better?
- Flat-rate suits teams where many people touch hiring. Per-seat is cheaper when only a few recruiters need access. Count everyone who needs a login before deciding — hiring managers are often the surprise.
